While It May Look Pretty, That Doesn't Make It Cleanable
Take a second and think about how annoying it is to dust in every single corner that your furniture has naturally. Now take a gander and appreciate this gorgeous staircase that has been crafted to look like it's made up of folding sheets. It is a beautiful piece of architecture, there is no doubt about that, however, we also can't see them being able to keep a cleaner employed for long.
It probably takes someone hours to properly dust this grand staircase. We would have neither the time nor the patience to systematically get through this entire staircase to leave it dustless.
Who on Earth Would Willingly Sit Underneath This?
We are not exactly sure what was going through the owner of this restaurant's mind when they decided to place a few hundred clay pots on their ceiling. The aesthetic might be cool and rustic, but just imagine sitting underneath those. Your first concern has got to be one of those pots falling on your head, and the second will be the terrifying fear that a spider is about to crawl out of one of them and go straight into your food.
That is not even mentioning how much of a waste of time this must be to clean to ensure that the food is not being contaminated by things falling out of them.
We Feel Bad for Those With Chapodiphobia in the Room
It is always fun to see people adding something unique and fun to their homes or businesses to give the room that something extra. A little spice to give the usual surrounding something remarkable. At least, we assume that was the goal when this person installed an octopus sink in their bathroom. However, we got to assume that it is nearly impossible to get clean with all those nooks and crannies.
This is not even starting on what to do when you have a customer or employee who has Chapodiphobia, the fear of octopi. Do they just not wash their hands?
The Lamp That Is Only Useful for Collecting Dust
Imagine purchasing this marvelous lamp at some estate sale. You know that it was overpriced and that it will always clash with everything else you own, but you just had to get it. We understand that this lamp, which is made up of iconic comic book characters, was just too great a find to not put on your living room table. However, you also just purchased the greatest dust collector known to man.
Not only will this lamp be impossible to clean with all of its little figures, but any attempts at cleaning it could easily result in a delicate piece breaking off.
This 1800s Aquarium Was Made to Be Broken
Okay, so now you saw some aquarium hobbyists on YouTube and you just had to get one for yourself. You go out and find this antique one, and you feel like you are now an expert. Just imagine, friends and family will come by and see this aquarium and admire your quaint taste. That is until you place something down a bit too hard on the surface and the aquarium will come crashing down.
Antiques are oftentimes a very cool addition, but they also have their downsides. Remember, an antique aquarium might look cool, but it's probably so delicate you'll be too afraid to touch it, let alone clean it.
This Room Was Designed to Hurt the Eyes
Imagine walking into this room for a second. You will probably be amazed by the design and how successfully the designer incorporated the tree theme into the room. Between the wooden railing, tree-shaped columns, and uniquely colored wooden floors, it looks like a modern art piece. However, it is also giving us a migraine the longer we stare at it. So we can only imagine that living here would not be too healthy for the eyes.
Not only is the room making us nauseous, but we can only imagine that it must be impossible to tell what is dirty and what is intentionally designed to appear rustic and natural.
This One Is Just Begging for an Accidental Drowning
Ever look at something and get that sixth sense that you are seeing an accident waiting to happen? If not, then wait till you have children because that sixth sense will kick in pretty quickly, making you see danger is the most common everyday items and designs. However, this is not an everyday bedroom design. This bed is installed to appear as though it's floating over a pool of water.
While this might a child's dream room, it also is a room begging for an accident. And imaging changing the sheets on this thing!
Will Anyone Actually Be Able to Wash Their Hands?
Ever since the global pandemic, the practice of washing hands became a hot topic. Gone are the days of old when people just rubbed their germy hands on their pants and called it day. However, this sink might just make washing one's hands impossible. The faucet is normal enough, but the sink doesn't have a bowl, but rather a wooden maze. We aren't even sure where to place our hands or where the water will go.
And we're not even thinking about what might grow in those numerous crevices on this uniquely designed sink. All that damp wood can't be very hygienic.
Sometimes Our Childhood Fantasies Shouldn't Come True
If you were ever a child then you've had that fantasy of building a beach in your basement. If you didn't then you must have had an unimaginative childhood, and we are sorry. While this idea sounds good in our heads, the actual reality of this seems to be a disaster. Pictured here, someone has turned their entire basement into an actual beachfront with beach chairs, towels, and a few hundred buckets of sand.
First off, we are not sure how they made this happen. Secondly, this is going to be really difficult to clean up. We only hope that they are not renting.
Glass Feeding Bottles Seems Like a Bad Idea
Ever had a really amazing idea that you swiftly realized was actually a terrible idea? You are not alone. Unfortunately, this happened here, but the person never got to the 'terrible idea' part of their thinking process. This is a glass bottle designed to feed newborns and infants. Whoever designed this did not think the whole cleaning process of teeny tiny glass particles through, obviously.
These bottles were actually used in the Victorian era, and were known to breed so much bacteria that countless infants actually died from using them.
Why Not Make Cleaning the Toilet More Difficult
When you go about your cleaning chores, there is one room that is most important and plausibly one of the more difficult to clean, and that is the bathroom. Whoever designed this style of toilet, in particular, was obviously an evil person who knew their design would deem all future toilets impossible to clean. All those little crevices in the porcelain are just begging for mold and other bathroom nasties.
If you have this type of toilet in your house, then we understand if you have a police-issued hazmat suit with a bleach hose to get through the bathroom cleaning duty.
Why Would Anyone Want to Vacuum Their Walls?
Out of all of the different options out there for designing a wall, this designer decided that bright pink shag carpet is the way to go. Why anyone would put carpet on their walls is beyond us; it's just such a bad idea we can almost smell it from all the way over here. How are you even supposed to clean this wall? We guess you will just have to vacuum both the floors and the walls, and who knows, maybe even the ceiling.
Heaven forbid there are any children living in this house because you won't just be able to paint over the damage if anything happens to these walls.
This Casino's Ceiling Seems Like Its Trying to Cover Something
We are not sure who thought that they were a modern-day Michelangelo who famously painted the Sistine Chapel's ceiling, but this ceiling is a cleaning nightmare. This designer covered the entire ceiling of this casino with glass flowers, and we can't even begin to imagine what might have found its way up there by this point. We are seeing a living colony of spiders just secretly living inside these for decades.
Whether the spiders are there or not is not important. The question is, if one day someone spots them, will they burn this casino down?
These Skull Shaped Headlamps Are Begging to Be Broken
Ever seen something that is just begging to get broken? Perhaps, your inner housecat sees a vase that is sitting just a bit too close to the edge, and you have a sudden urge to just push over. That is the feeling that we get when we see these intricate glass skulls that serve as this car's headlughts. Just a little kick and boom, they are gone. We might actually do the car's owner a service.
Why a service? Because these must be the worst to clean. Just imagine how many bugs get stuck in this every single day, and we aren't even talking bout the barbed wire grill.
This Wall Was Literally Designed to Look Dirty
Entering a bathroom and seeing these walls in front of you might open up a new side of you that is an insane germaphobe. We are not sure who designed these tiled walls, but they were not the right color or material for anything, let alone a wall. They look like someone decided to take the distressed look a step, or actually two, or actually a hundred steps too far.
We can definitely see ourselves spending countless hours with a bucket of bleach and a sponge scrubbing these walls like crazy. Heaven forbid we touch them before then.
Geode Sink Turned Moldy Nightmare
A unique addition to your home is sure to leave an impression on your guests. Especially when your addition is a geode sink. Just imagine walking into the bathroom and seeing a massive geode sitting there. However, we have got to question the logistical choice behind this particular sink. First off, it seems almost dangerous to wash your hands over something with such sharp edges. Secondly, how are you even supposed to clean a sink like this?
Is one allowed to clean geodes with bleach? Windex? Dish soap? We have a feeling you can't even touch these sparkly bits with harsh chemicals, so it's bound to get nasty fast.
This Toilet Is Reserved for a Royal Mess
This is quite the porcelain throne, no pun intended. Just imagine going to a friend's toilet to discover this... regalness awaiting you in the bathroom. It almost feels like we would be misusing this toilet by using it for our simpleton bodily functions. But regal as it may appear, just think about how nasty all these itty bitty golden tiles get. How do you even clean this stuff, with a toothbrush?.
We appreciate how this thing looks, but just thinking about how dirty it probably is gives us the heebie jeebies.
A Sprinkle of Dust in Your Food? Sure, No Problem
At first glance, this chandelier looks like an absolute masterpiece. It has been designed to look like a collection of flowers shining a light over this restaurant's patrons, and it's really special. Honestly, it is a piece of art, but therein lies the problem. Art installations aren't designed for function. So while these flowery chandeliers might look pretty, they are probably impossible to clean and will shower anyone underneath them with dust.
You would probably be to break these dainty lights to clean them, cause you'll know the cost of which will come out of your paycheck!
There Is Not Such Thing as Too Many Beaded Seat Covers
We'd like to call an addiction hotline for this poor soul. They've completely covered their car in beaded seat covers. If you aren't familiar with them, they're an old fashion method to keep yourself cool and from sticking to the seats. This person went a bit overbored and covered their seats, dashboard, media center, and basically everything else in these beads. Not only is it nasty to look at, but only God knows what lies underneath those beads.
Just imagine having a bag of chips in this car on a hot summer's day; Crumbs and swear galore.
Someone Needs to Be Fired Over This Soft Cabinet
Sometimes an idea sounds great on paper but absolutely fails in real life. Imagine walking into this person's living room or dining room to discover this "soft cabinet" chilling in the corner. It is shaped like a cabinet but is essentially made out of foam with little slots for the plates, bowls, and cups. The ridiculousness of this cabinet creates cause for concern, but also just imagine what might be hiding in between those foam cracks.
Not only could anything be hiding in between these foam slits, but how are you supposed to clean out a foam china cabinet? Maybe our couch cleaning service does cabinets as well.
Just Imagine Trying to Clean Each of Those Mini Buildings
Nothing screams patience more than people who build miniature boats in glass bottles and whoever owns this. This wooden model of a massive city looks like a scene stolen out of the "Inception" movie's folding city scene. These buildings have pencil-tip-sized window seals and likely demand constant attention to avoid the build-up of dust or grime. Likely, cleaning this city model is a hobby within itself that requires constant attention and an extreme amount of patience.
This is one of those things that might look appealing, but a bit of foresight will save you the heartache of attempting to get this curse off your hands ASAP.
This Permanently Installed Cutting Board Will Never Be Used
We are not exactly sure what was going through this kitchen designer's mind when they installed a permanent wooden cutting board on the countertop. Possibly this designer has never used a wooden cutting board, but these things show their wear and tear over time. This doesn't even take into account the fact that wood is not waterproof. The end result is a disgusting piece of uncleanable wood that is now a permanent feature of your countertops.
Oh, also the draw below is now acting as a water catching bucket for any water that might leak through the cutting board. This entire design is just begging for mold.
We Like Our Morning Coffee With a Little Mold
If you have ever wanted a cup to scare the living daylights out of you every morning then look no further. This mug has a ceramic octopus residing in the middle of it that is designed to start poking its head and tentacles out as you start to finish your cup of morning coffee. This one is likely to scare anyone who doesn't know that there is an octopus waiting at the bottom of their cup.
Even more terrifying is the fact that all of those little crevices are just waiting to be left unwashed and create a little mold for your morning coffee.
A Flammable Tumbleweed Chandelier, Who Wouldn't Want That?
Tumbleweeds are notorious for popping up in the middle of a duel in the old west. Two men or women stand across from each other waiting for the moment to draw and shoot, but before that can commence a ball of dried weeds crosses the dirt road. These tumbleweeds have never been known for their cleanliness as they usually are just a collection of dirt and weeds. Hence, it makes absolutely no sense why someone would hang one in their kitchen.
Naturally, this little tumbleweed chandelier is from Texas. While we can't say that this is the best option for a chandelier we can confirm that it's at least on theme.
Best Hope That the Boys Have Fantastic Aim
We cannot even begin to imagine what the smell of this bathroom must be because there is no way it smells any better than a massive urban center's subway system. This bathroom is designed to also be a showcase for hundreds of little model cars. Now, we aren't saying that they are covered in urine, but we aren't saying that it is impossible either. There is just no way that these little cars have gotten splashed every now and again.
Not only must the smell be atrocious, but you will have to take each individual car and clean it by hand in order to get rid of the smell.
A Lot Went Down in This Elevator
We imagine that the designers behind this elevator were aiming to create a sense of calm with the grass floors and walls. There are also flowers and a mirror on the walls to complete the look. However, rather than being calmed we're becoming grossed out by what has been collected in the fake grass that coats the walls around us. The hundreds of people that have taken this elevator have each left a little bit of themselves in this room.
We know that we will be taking the stairs because there is no way that anyone is able to properly clean this elevator as long as the grass stays up.
Modern Architecture Is Really Just Fancy Dust Collectors
Have modern home designers ever heard of too much? This wooden architecture piece seems to serve absolutely no purpose except to hold a single wooden board out for people to eat and cook on. However, despite its lack of purpose, the entire design is absolutely over the top and just seems to be an additional piece of the house's personality that we are going to have to clean later on.
Sometimes simpler is just better, especially when it comes to keeping a clean home. Why must we go overboard and create these unnecessary additions that serve no purpose?
Beauty Doesn't Translate to Easy Cleaning
When this homeowner installed these fans they were surely focusing on the beauty of the fan's realistic leaf-shaped fans. While they are certainly attractive to the eye they are not exactly serving any additional purpose that a normal fan couldn't achieve. The end result will be a fan that is extremely difficult to clean and will add absolutely nothing to the home except a pretty fan that works just as well as the original.
Why would they make these additions to their houses? The answer is that they don't have to clean them because they probably pay someone to do that for them.
This Mirror Looks Like a Kindergartener's Art Project
When this family put this bathroom mirror frame up they probably thought that it was a unique piece that their friends and family would talk about. Little did they know that the things said about this mirror's frame would hardly be positive. The frame looks like it was made out of foam concrete or some other expanding foam substance by a kindergartner as a class art project, and maybe it is.
Either way, we can see all of the little pores in this frame and we just don't want to imagine all of the toothpaste particles that have been collecting within this frame.
Modern Architecture Is Designed to Hurt Your Brain
Have you ever wanted to leave your friends and family speechless? In that case, you have found the perfect home. This photo shows the entrance to a house that seems to have thousands of metal poles sticking out of it. Was the architect designing this house while hunting for porcupines? We are not sure, but we honestly have no clue what to make of this or how we are going to prevent birds from making their nests in it.
The aghast looks these homeowners will see on their guests' faces won't be because of the immense beauty that the front of their house possesses, we can say that without a doubt.
This Coffee Bean Light Switch Is Every Germaphobes Worst Nightmare
The problem with light switches in bathrooms is that everyone touches them. If you are not a germaphobe then this might be just the one thing that still grosses you out a bit and is probably one of the grossest things to anyone who actually has a fear of germs. What makes this even worse is that this light switch's cover is a 3-D model of a pile of coffee beans.
Those beans allow for germs to hide in all of those crevices and also probably make it nearly impossible to completely disinfect. Thank you we will take our chances in the dark.
At Least There Won't Be Any Monsters Underneath This Bed
If you have a fear of the gap between the bed and the floor then this might just be the mattress for you. This three-level mattress not only goes all the way to the floor, but it even provides little steps up to the top mattress. Overall, this entire thing might seem incredibly comfortable upon first sight and eliminates the possibility of monsters underneath the bed, but you just gave your cat the best scratching pad.
Now you might have eliminated your nighttime fears of monsters, but you have brought your cat into the picture and that animal will never let you sleep ever again.
Wait, Is That a Wig or a Lamp?
Ever seen something that not only requires a second glance but also requires some deep investigation? That is the case with this lamp. Upon first glance, it looks like a lamp, but the second glance shows a wig, and the mystery won't be solved until you can actually grab ahold of this lamp. Whether or not this is a wig or lamp is still unclear, but we know that it has got to be nasty either way.
Also, how do you clean this fabric lamp when a lamp is an electronic device? Can you spray it with liquid or will that just lead to an early death by electrocution?
Hopefully No One Has Sweaty Palms With This Mouse
This computer mouse looks extremely futuristic with its shiny white surface and all the little holes in its covering showing all the shiny lights and little electronic gadgets hidden within. However, what does someone do when they wish to clean it? You can't spray it with a cleaning solution without possibly ruining the mouse. So do you just live with something you touch every day collecting more and more dirt and skin particles until it's too gross to use?
The answer remains unclear and we'll never know because we know for a fact that we will not be purchasing this mouse, no matter what the advertisements say about it being "Glorious."
Surprisingly, Sometimes Things Actually Work as Intended
Every now and again a designer will surprise you and actually create something that works as promised. Take these dust guards, for example, they are little metal triangles that are placed in the corner of the staircase to prevent those impossible-to-clean piles of dust love to occupy. Never again will a toothbrush be required to get into those tricky little corners. Who knows, you might even be able to keep your cleaner happy with these installed.
This design actually working as intended requires us to just take a moment and appreciate the fact that miracles do, sometimes, happen even if it is very rare.
